2016 Big Cedar Bike Race – Dallas, Texas Race #6

My Cat2 40-44 mountain bike race video from the 2016 Prayer Mountain Pedal held at Big Cedar Wilderness Area in Dallas, Texas.

Coming off of a win at Pace Bend, I again had high hopes of a strong finish at Big Cedar. If I could somehow pull off another win, it would keep me in the running for the state championship.

Heavy rains leading up to race day forced the organizers to shorten and change up the course. In the end, the chosen route wasn’t all that bad, although there were a few pretty muddy spots.

All in all, the course adjustments played right to my strengths. Most of the course was slightly tacky meaning you could really rail the turns. They were tight and twisty and I feel I was able to ride strong in the woods.

In the end, I managed to get the hole shot and ride in the lead for the entire race, keeping my hopes alive for the State Championship.
