2015 Camp Eagle Classic Mountain Bike Race

My Cat2 40-49 mountain bike race video from the 2015 Camp Eagle Classic held at Camp Eagle near Rocksprings, Texas.

This is the first race of the Texas state fall series. I have had a pretty busy summer and have not had much training time. As such, I knew it was going to be a tough race for me.

In addition to that, save for a little poking around the day before, I had never ridden these trails so I had little idea what I was in for. I knew it was going to be a lot of climbing and was going to be pretty rugged, and boy was I right!

Bike was dialed in and performed wonderfully, although the engine could have used some serious work! Any effort that peaked my heart rate would put me in a hole so I was constantly either holding back or maxxed out.

In the end, I finished about as expected. I got 10th place and was happy with that considering how out of ‘race shape’ I was!

I did do the SuperD race the day prior which I’ll hopefully put some video up of as well. It was a lot of fun but I was way out classed as I entered the Open Men division instead of the 40-49 age group.
